Small make over

My whole house received a make over this week.

We ordered new windows a few weeks ago, they came in Monday and Chance finally got them installed this week.

The trim around them outside is still a little shabby, but we're going to just paint the trim for now and eventually put a stucco like coating on.

A few weeks ago we also got a new 6 pane window back door.

So there is much more light, and a lot less cool breezes around here!! : )

Some of the tile work

These pictures are everything we have done tile wise. The kitchen is, I kid you not 99% done. Chance ran out of something, I have no idea what, but he still hasn't finished. The bathroom has no reason to be finished, he just hasn't done it.

The bath tub is from a job Chance was working on, they just gave it to us because they were going to toss it. I told him he better bring that sucker home!!

Made a big decision today

Spur of the moment, Chance says to me today: "Let's go to Walmart and get some paint for the cabinets."

This is something we have discussed some in the past, but never actually decided to do it. He and his dad built these cabinets last summer, and I was a little worried his dad would be mad that we painted them but he said he wouldn't care.

So, here are the before's

And here are the after's:
:

All the before work!

Here is the myspace album of photos for the house. It's all the ones I have on this computer right now.

They are mostly befores except for a couple of Arch's nursery before he was born! I am going to try to add more asap! : )

The house I want to build someday!

House plan 17-533. 1683 square feet 3 bedroom 2 bathroom southern with 2 garage stalls

Chance and I actually agree on this, which never happens. And we are thinking of putting a door in the master and a hot tub behind the master bath.

It's been a while

And a lot more work has been done on the house. We are actually about 85% finished with major projects. There are a few things that still need to be finished:
-Central Heat and Air--a MUST have.
-New Windows in all the rooms
-I'm thinking a metal roof
-EFIS siding--it's like stucco, it's fairly cost effective to do, and extremely beneficial on the costs of operating the house due to it's energy efficiency.

Still some cosmetic issues, like new trim. But that has to wait for new windows. The bathroom and our bedroom needs paint.

This summer Chance plans to raise the floor in the garage about 3 feet and create a more useful laundry room. I'm making him build/install shelving and closet racks so that our clothes can go from the dryer directly to their places. It will be very helpful for my hatred of folding tons of clothes after they have been in the laundry basket for two days because I'm too lazy to do it right away! : ) And, the closet in our bedroom is awful, the rack runs on the sides and no through the middle. And it's tiny.

Mud mud everywhere

All the walls that have sheet rock are mudded. Still need some drywall in nursery and kitchen. I am supposed to go in the morning and get a few sheets for the kitchen, so that Chance and his friend Jeremiah and finish the soffits and kitchen. Jeremiah is coming on Monday to finish mudding and texturing. Chance said the other day that his dad has finished the bottom cabinets, we still don't have doors, we will get them later. Now if it will stop raining hopefully they can finish the top and put them in and stain them! I don't really know the order of how that will work, but I know it will be something along those lines!!
